Delirious?

Delirious?

“Now is the Time: Live at Willow Creek” DVD

15 songs at 1:26:00

Having been fortunate enough to see delirious? play in concert two times, I was looking forward to this cocnert release.  One major Christian publication has already given it its highest rating.  In general, I tend to agree.

Lead singer Martin Smith says, “Over the last two albums we’ve been singing a lot about going out, about letting our faith act as fuel for service and mission. . . we hope this new live DVD and CD will help spread the message even further, encouraging an army of history makers to live life out loud.”

Many of the songs are on the band’s most recent releases.  Don’t worry, favorite “I Could Sing of Your Love Forever” is included.

I really appreciated the feature that allowed me to display the lyrics.  It enhanced my experience of “Our God Reigns,” where the band deals with the topic of social injustice.

The end of “Our God Reigns-Reprise” and “Investigate” is simply exhilarating, I felt as though I were at the show.

I loved the bonus feature that displayed the director’s monitors; it appears nine cameras were used to capture this event.  While a pinch over-directed at times, I loved the overhead perspective views and shots that puts the viewer in the audience. The editing between songs is seamless, not an easy accomplishment.

I did enjoy the bonus feature “The delirious? Story.”  I was struck by something Martin Smith said near the very end of the piece, “This is what God has called us to do.  So let’s get on with it.”  delirious? is one Christian band not afraid to let His Light shine through their music.

An audio CD is included.  If you can find the published interview Martin Smith did with Mike Rimmer of the UK, track it down.

            Recommended.
