Life at the Pond

The Rise & Fall of Tony the Frog

Isaac Entertainment

Life at the Pond“The Rise & Fall of Tony the Frog” is the fifth installment of the Life at the Pond series created and written by Charlie Richards.  The DVD’s are distributed through Word Distribution.

The casts of characters include four not-so-typical friends, Tony the Frog, Bill the Duck, Floyd the Turtle, and Methuselah the Alligator.  As if an alligator isn’t intimidating enough, his name is Methuselah!  However, neither my toddler nor infant was put off by the alligator (meaning he didn’t scare them out of their wits).

The “Life at the Pond” series plays through some of life’s challenges and in this case, the episode centers on Tony’s issues with idolatry.  The “Rise and Fall” teaches a well-rounded lesson that shows how idolatry can impact a person’s character.  As well the episode shows how love and patient endurance (grace) on the part of his friends can also make a difference.  The dialog was well written and the CGI was decent.  The DVD was fully capable of holding the attention of my toddler (and myself).

The official website has games and character information as well as a trailer for the current episode.  http://www.lifeatthepond.com/
